On December 29, the signing ceremony for Wanda Sports Holding Co., Ltd. (Wanda Sports)’s move-in to Huadu District of Guangzhou was held in the city. The newly-established Wanda Sports consists of Infront Sports & Media of Switzerland, World Triathlon Corporation of the US and other companies.

Wanda Sports, an operator for 20+ sports including ice-snow sports, football and triathlon, has set up 25 offices in 13 countries worldwide. It ranks the world’s No. 1 in the broadcasting and marketing of the ice-snow and football games. It is the strategic partner of the world’s seven major international associations for winter sports. It has the broadcast rights for the Asian Qualifying Games of FIFA World Cup. From 2016, Wanda Sports will exclusively hold world-level games in China.

 

Wanda Sports Global Headquarters settles down in Guangzhou because the city boasts competent natural conditions, profound mass sports culture, first-class gymnasiums and sports facilities as well as the convenient conditions for holding international games as an international traffic hub, said Wang Jianlin, chairman of the board of Wanda Group. For the upcoming three years, Wanda Sports plans to introduce two international games each year and build Guangzhou into the Capital of Sports in China.
