On the afternoon of December 28, Guangzhou Mayor Wen Guohui chaired the Democratic Consulting Conference to listen to opinions of representatives of democratic parties, municipal federation of industry and commerce, and nonpartisans to the Report on the Work of Guangzhou Municipal Government.

 

Zhang Jiaji, Chen Yini and other six persons in charge of the democratic parties, persons in charge of municipal federations of industry and commerce and nonpartisan intellectual fellowships delivered speeches at the meeting. The Report on the Work of Guangzhou Municipal Government is authentic, pragmatic, objective and comprehensive in the review, and has outstanding emphases and great instructiveness in descriptions of the objects and tasks for the next five years and the work focuses of 2017. Taking their work fields into consideration, the representatives advanced opinions and suggestions on developing strategic emerging industries, nurturing high-level small- and medium-sized enterprises, supporting the large-scale operation of modern agriculture, pushing forward the construction of indemnificatory housing, improving urban environment, and improving medical and senior services. Wen Guohui listened to the speeches carefully, and communicates with representatives from time to time.

 

In his speech, Wen extended his gratitude to the active suggestions of the democratic parties, municipal federation of industry and commerce, and nonpartisans and their efforts to drive Guangzhou’s development all along. All representatives have focused on the overall situation, the hot spots and the difficulties in Guangzhou’s development, proposed practical and pertinent opinions and suggestions, said Wen, this showcased the sense of responsibility and awareness of mission. The municipal will earnestly study and solicit these opinions and suggestions to constantly improve the governmental work. We hope people from all circles of life to make concerted efforts in forging Guangzhou into an important national central city.
