The 10.5-generation Display Full Ecological Industrial Park project, with planned investment of 61 billion yuan, will start construction in 2017, and achieve mass production in 2019 with annual output value of nearly 100 billion yuan. The project will mainly build the production lines for the 10.5-G panel, glass substrate and related post products, focus on the development and application of industrial big data, ultra HD 8K TV, smart household, smart office and panel automation (industrial robots) R&D etc.

On December 30, Guangzhou Municipal Government and Sakai Display Production(SDP), a subcompany of Foxconn Technology Group, signed a cooperation framework agreement in Guangzhou for the settlement of the 10.5-generation Display Full Ecological Industrial Park project in the city. Guangzhou CPC Committee’s Secretary Ren Xuefeng, Guangzhou CPC Committee’s Deputy Secretary and Mayor Wen Guohui, Guangzhou Municipal People’s Congress Chairman Chen Jianhua, Guangzhou Municipal CPPCC Chairman Su Zhijia and Toxconn’s President Terry Tai-Ming Gou witnessed the signing ceremony and had a discussion. Wen Guohui and Terry Tai-Ming Gou addressed the ceremony.

Ren Xuefeng congratulated the signing of the cooperation framework agreement. In his speech, Terry Tai-Ming Gou said that Guangzhou boasts robust sci-tech innovation momentum, powerful central city functions and industrial supportive functions, high internationalization degree, plentiful human resource, good ecological environment, extensive market space and exploitable hinterland, and comprehensive advantages in business environment. Guangzhou’s high efficiency in governmental service and ambition for developing advanced manufacturing were fully embodied in the process from initial contact to the project’s signing and move-in, Gou added. He hoped to leverage the project to further intensify cooperation in technical development, platform construction, industrial chain extension and other aspects and make reciprocal and win-win achievements.

In his address, Wen said that the project signing is an important measure to carry out the central government’s strategic deployment for rejuvenating the real economy, and an iconic fruit in pushing forward the Made in Guangzhou 2025 Strategic Plan. Guangzhou is comprehensively boosting the construction of the hub-type network city and three international strategic hubs, accelerating the development of Smart Manufacturing and the construction Smart City.
