ZTE Guangzhou Institute Settles Down in Guangzhou

On the evening of December 30, Guangzhou Mayor Chen Jianhua met ZTE Chairman Hou Weigui, and signed the cooperation agreement for ZTE Guangzhou Institute Project.
 
Guangzhou, as a national central city and a portal city in South China with powerful sci-tech innovation strength, obvious geographical advantages and outstanding business environment, has kept a good trend in economic development, continuously improved its infrastructure, consolidated its position as a transport hub, said Chen at the meeting. Chen hoped ZTE to strengthen cooperation with Guangzhou, expand investment in Guangzhou and achieve a win-win development. Hou praised Guangzhou’s achievements in economic and social development and intended to deepen cooperation with the city in multiple fields.
 
According to the project cooperation agreement signed yesterday evening, ZTE will establish ZTE Guangzhou Institute Co., Ltd. (temporary name) which will be ZTE’s South China headquarters base, R&D and marketing center and focus on the technical R&D in 5G and future communication, chips with independent property right, smart city, cloud service, big data, new energy and other fields.
 
Pan Jianguo, secretary-general of the People’s Government of Guangzhou, Qiu Weizhao, executive vice president of ZTE Corporation and others attended the meeting.
