Recently, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China finished the comprehensive evaluation of 21 exemplary service outsourcing cities and released the results. In accordance with the points calculated on basis of comprehensive evaluation indicators, from the overall perspective, the difference between the 21 demonstration cities in development of service outsourcing slightly shrank in 2014.

 

Eight cities had points above the average level (higher than 100 points). They are Nanjing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Shenzen and Beijing. Jinan and Hefei took the ninth and tenth places. Nanjing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Suzhou showed obvious advantages, forming up the top echelon.

 

The comprehensive evaluation was carried out in accordance with the Measures for the Comprehensive Evaluation of Exemplary Service Outsourcing Cities in China, introducing 58 indicators. For 12 indicators, data from service outsourcing management information systems were used; for 45 indicators, data from reports of related cities were used; data on telecom cost were sourced from statistical bulletins; data not included in the reports of the cities were sourced from data of related statistics offices or statistical bulletins.
