To help Taiwan's manufacturers expand their export markets, a database platform - “Global Market Potential Indicators” - has been launched by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). The platform has conducted a star rating for 80 markets in the world and the Chinese mainland tops the rating list.
The platform, officially launched on January 14, is free to access during its promotion period. It covers main global markets as well as potential markets in emerging countries and regions. Real-time queries are available.
According to Peter W. J. Huang, President and CEO of TAITRA, the database has been created specially for Taiwanese manufacturers, to provide the latest export predictions and help exporters to select potential markets.
The Chinese mainland tops the list with five stars and 81 points. The U.S. ranks second with 73 points and five stars. Hong Kong is also a favored market. It ranks fourth and gets a four-star rating.
