Imports and Exports through Cross-Border E-Business Sharply Increase by 3.6 Times

It was learnt that the total imports and exports through foreign trade of Guangdong in 2015 reached RMB6.36 trillion, with a drop of 3.9% over the same period of last year (the same below), accounting for 25.9% of the national total during the same period.
 
In terms of foreign trade, Guangdong has a better performance than that of the whole country, with continuous proportion increase. In 2015, the drop of imports and exports of Guangdong was 3.1 percentage points lower than the national level during the same period; the exports of Guangdong reached RMB4 trillion, up 0.8% (while that of the whole country dropped by 1.8% during the same period); the imports of Guangdong reached RMB2.36 trillion, down 10.8% (while that of the whole country dropped by 13.2%). Respectively, the proportion of Guangdong’s total imports and exports, exports as well as imports in the national total increased by 0.9, 0.7 and 0.6 percentage point. It was indicated that Guangdong has made a great contribution to the stable growth of the national foreign trade.
 
The imports and exports through tourism shopping and cross-border e-business have a sharp increase. In 2015, the imports and exports through general trade modes of Guangdong reached RMB2.68 trillion, up 4.9%, accounting for 42.1% of the total value, with proportion increasing by 3.5 percentage points. During the same period, the imports and exports through processing trade of Guangdong reached RMB2.74 trillion, down 14.4%, with proportion decreasing by 4.4 percentage points. In addition, the imports and exports through tourism shopping reached RMB146.46 billion, increasing by 1.2 times; the imports and exports through e-business reached RMB16.73 billion, increasing by 3.6 times. In terms of the scale of imports and exports, Guangdong ranked top nationwide.
 
In 2015, the imports and exports of Guangdong related to Hong Kong reached RMB1.31 trillion, with a drop of 9.6%, accounting for 20.5%, with proportion decreasing by 1.3 percentage points. The imports and exports of Guangdong related to the United States, ASEAN and EU respectively reached RMB797.16 billion, RMB704.2 billion and RMB 665.44 billion, up 6.6%, 2.1% and 2.5%.
 
Some major foreign trade cities of Guangdong province showed increase, while some showed decrease. Guangzhou and Dongguan were among the formers. In 2015, eight cities of Guangdong province saw total imports and exports of more than RMB100 billion. The total imports and exports of Guangzhou and Dongguan showed a positive growth, respectively with RMB830.64 billion and RMB1.04 trillion, up 3.5% and 4.2%. The other six cities showed a decrease of total imports and exports. The total imports and exports of Shenzhen reached RMB 2.75 trillion, with a drop of 8.2%, while that of Foshan reached RMB408.72 billion, with a drop of 3.3%.
