Enterprises can enjoy the tariff preferences by presenting the regional certificate of origin. More than 99% of goods exported to Switzerland can enjoy zero tariffs with the certificate of origin. In 2014, Guangzhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau issued 173,000 certificates of origin for US$5.763 billion of exported goods, saving US$266 million of tariffs for exporters.

The regional certificate of origin is crowned as the “Golden Key” to the international market. Last year 81,800 certificates were issued, exceeding the GSP Certificate of Origin Form for two consecutive years, and the amount involved reached US$3.156 billion. Of the regional certificate of origin, China-ASEAN certificates of origin account for the largest proportion, totaling 44,519 certificates which involve US$1.908 billion of goods. These certificates of origin help enterprises reduce about US$95.40 billion of tariff. It is learned that exports from Guangzhou to ASEAN members are mainly mechanical and electrical products, iron and steel products, textile and plastic products. Exporters can enjoy tariff preferences by presenting the China-ASEAN certificate of origin issued by the entry-exit inspection and quarantine authority to the customs authority of the importing country.

Since July 1, 2014, the issuance number of China-Switzerland certificate of origin has increased dramatically. 1,304 certificates of origin were issued within the recent half year, involving US$51.7946 million of goods.
