On the afternoon of Jan. 19, Hu Chunhua, deputy of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress and secretary of CPC Guangdong Committee, attended the discussion of Guangzhou delegation at the 5^th session of Guangdong Provincial 12^th People's Congress and considered the governmental work report with other deputies together.

The governmental work report made by Ma Xingrui is practical in summarizing the work last year and meets the Central Government’s requirement and Guangdong’s situation in the assignment of this year’s work, said Hu. He hoped that everyone in the province to make concerted efforts, and do their best in this year’s work.

Hu made a speech on building the free trade zone(FTZ) into a high-level open-up portal hub. Building FTZs is an inherent demand for Guangdong’s improvement of opening-up, Hu said. Guangzhou will pool strengths in building Nansha FTZ and make it a real portal hub for foreign trade, investment attraction and enterprises’ going-global efforts. We should establish a global vision, borrow advanced international experience, deepen Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation at a higher level, and forge world first-class business environment. Based on the functional positioning as a portal hub, we will insist on high-level and high standard to further optimize planning and construction, realize the target of high-level construction of an internationalized city. We’ll intensify collaboration with Qianhai in Shenzhen, Hengqin in Zhuhai, Cuiheng New Area in Zhongshan and other peripheral areas, strengthen integration and collaboration, improve regional competitiveness, and strive to take the national lead in the construction of FTZ.
