Fund Up to RMB 200,000 for Overseas Returnees Engaged in Scientific Researches

From now to February 8, the overseas returnees in Guangzhou may apply for fund ranging from RMB 20,000 to RMB 200,000 for projects concerning scientific and technological activities.
On January 21, Guangzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau issued the Notification on Overseas Returnees Applying for the Fund for Projects Concerning Scientific and Technological Activities in 2015. According to the notification, overseas returnees who work or start a business in Guangzhou and has certain ability for scientific and technological innovation may apply for the fund.
The applicants should: have more than one year’s experience in overseas study with certain achievements, and recently come back to China to work (mainly in the non-education systems); have obtained master’s degree or above, or have been granted professional and technical titles at middle-rank or above; be capable of independently leading research and development programs, with potential for further development; been engaged in domestically, locally or industrial leading projects, with good application and development prospects and good economic and social benefits.
It was learned that the fund covers three types of projects, namely key projects, excellent projects and start-up projects and will be granted by the type of project.
RMB 100,000 to 200,000 will be granted for key projects, including national key research projects, major technological transformation projects and technical innovation projects with broad application prospect. RMB 50,000 to 100,000 will be granted for excellent projects, including key scientific and technological research projects or technological transformation projects at provincial and ministerial levels, or leading research and development projects in certain fields. RMB 20,000 to 50,000 will be granted for start-up projects launched by overseas returnees who recently came back to China or will soon come back to China to work for disciplinary or technical researches.
