On the afternoon of Feb. 3, the 4^th Plenary Session of the 12^th CPPCC Guangzhou Committee held a seminar of leaders of Guangzhou and members of the CPPCC from Hong Kong and Macao. Chen Jianhua, mayor of Guangzhou, attended the seminar and held talks face to face with more than 100 members of the CPPCC from Hong Kong and Macao for nearly three hours.

 

At the seminar, 20 members got the chance to voice their suggestions centering on cooperation among Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao and promoting modern services. They cast more attention to financial cooperation among the three cities. Chen said the financial industry is the short slab of Guangzhou and lacks of competitiveness in terms of financial leverage, financial products and financial services although Guangzhou ranks among Top 3 in China in terms of the size of the financial industry. He said financial cooperation will be given priority in the following days of cooperation among Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao.
