In recent years, Guangzhou has gradually sped up information infrastructures construction and boosted data resource sharing. So far, Guangzhou has collected about 1.76 billion data entries on 405 topics from 51 departments, and built a credit library on enterprises, individuals, institutions, public organizations and governments with about 540 million data entries.

In addition, Guangzhou also drove the departments to accelerate data sharing and sorting. So far, Guangzhou has completed the registration of 3,520 information resources of 1,1157 information systems from 83 departments including finance and education, and is revising the 2^nd-edition Governmental Information Sharing Catalog. “The new Catalog consists of basic information sharing, department information sharing and special application sharing catalogs. And department information sharing catalog includes 700 topic information from 53 departments, and special application sharing catalog includes 18 kinds of special information, such as quantity control on middle- and small-size passenger vehicles, comprehensive taxation and household economic verification,” said Ye Xiaoqiang, deputy inspector of Guangzhou Municipal Industry and Information Technology Commission.

Based on the achievements of Guangzhou’s big data sorting and the establishment of the catalog lists, Guangzhou is accelerating the routine opening of governmental data resources to the public to boost the development of big data industry.

Guangzhou will formulate annual opening plan, define catalog lists for annual data opening work, carry out data opening, updating and maintenance responsibility, build a consistent, safe governmental data platform, and realize the unified release and management of data opening of governmental departments, said Ye Xiaoqiang.
