Wang Yang Stressed to Boost Foreign Trade’s Stable Growth, Transformation and Upgrading with Firm Confidence and Great Efforts

On February 26, the National Foreign Trade Video Conference was held in Beijing. Wang Yang, vice premier of the State Council, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Wang stressed to carry out the work of the Central Economic Work Conference, insist on stable development, focus on innovation-driven growth and policy performance to activate the market participants’ vitality, energetically boost foreign trade’s stable growth, transformation and upgrading, and foster new advantages in international competition.
 
In 2014, due to the firm leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council as well as the hard work of the regions and departments, China had maintained a stable growth in foreign trade with continuously optimized structure, obviously improved quality and profitability, further consolidated position as a big foreign trade country and greater share in international market, said Wang Yang, the achievements were hard-earned.
 
According to Wang Yang, the decelerated import and export growth in recent years is an objective reflection of the new normal of economic development. But, China still boasts comprehensive competition advantages and the basis for long-term steady growth in in foreign trade. We should maintain stable mind and firm confidence to work hard and boost foreign trade to a new development high. At present, we should further improve policies for stablizing growth and adjusting structure, enhance foreign enterprises’ confidence, strengthen sense of responsibility, and promote local authorities’ enthusiasm and creativity in foreign trade. Efforts shall also be made in further improving tax rebate mechanism for export, expand export credit’s amount and coverage, actively exploring import potential to increase import of advanced technical equipment, key parts and consumables, driving the transformation and upgrading of processing trade, accelerating the development of service trade and service outsourcing, encouraging innovation in foreign trade’s business mode, cracking the policy nuts in cross-border E-commerce, comprehensive service platforms and procurement trade development, enhancing the rectification to import/export-related fees, establishing Positive List for items of charge, deepening cooperation between customs and commercial inspection authority, improving trade convenience, encouraging enterprises to attend overseas infrastructure cooperative projects, spurring equipment manufacturing to go global and promote effective combination of investment and trade.
