Guangdong Has Confidence in Realizing Foreign Trade Growth Goal

On the afternoon of February 26, the National Teleconference on Foreign Trade was convened in Beijing to implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and important instructions of leaders of the State Council, deploy tasks of foreign trade, and promote steady growth, transform the growth mode and readjust the structure of foreign trade. Zhao Yufang, vice governor of Guangdong Province, made a speech at Guangdong workshop.
According to the conference schedule, Zhao mainly introduced the experience and practice of Guangdong Province in 2014. Guangdong Province has earnestly implemented the spirit of important instructions, series decisions and deployment of leaders of the State Council, changed pressure to the driving force of upgrade, and promote the foreign trade to realize quality and sustainable development. She said Guangdong has deeply understood that initiative measures must be taken to readjust the economic structure and worked out and released a package of policies and measure accordingly in time to explore new mode and new path in optimizing the processing trade, strengthening general trade to ensure essential development, enlarging new types of foreign trade and bettering governmental services. With transformation and upgrade, Guangdong has stabilized growth of foreign trade, improved quality and efficiency and enhanced the international competitiveness. Except for the non-comparable factors, Guangdong enjoyed 7.3% growth in foreign trade and the taxes related to foreign trade exceeded RMB430 billion, despite of complicated and severe situation in international trade. Guangdong is confident and has determined to realize the goal of foreign trade on the basis of accelerating transformation and upgrade to ensure that the province will maintain the growth rate and improve quality of foreign trade this year, said Zhao.
