Guangdong and Australia Launch Cooperation in Innovation

On February 28, just after the end of the Guangdong Conference on Science and Technology Innovation held by the CPC Guangdong Committee and the People's Government of Guangdong, Chen Yunxian, vice governor of Guangdong in charge of science and technology development, led a delegation to visit Australia and New Zealand, aiming to practice the core strategy featuring innovation-driven development made at the conference, fully integrate international innovation resources and promote economic transformation and upgrading of Guangdong through opening-up and innovation. On March 2, accompanied by the Counsellor of Science and Technology of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Australia, Chen Yunxian visited Mr. John Ran, vice minister for the Department of Industry and Science of Australia. Both sides exchanged opinions on the mechanism, mode and key points of the cooperation between Guangdong and Australia in science and technology innovation. In the afternoon, Chen Yunxian attended the inauguration ceremony of Fenghua Hi-Tech-ANU Joint R&D Center for Dielectric Materials held at the world famous Australian National University (ANU). Chen delivered a speech. He said that the Joint R&D Center is a result of "alliance between gaints" and opens a new "road" for the innovation and development of the high-tech enterprises of Guangdong province. He expected more high-tech enterprises to seek for innovation from a global perspective in the future.
