On March 18, Ren Xuefeng, deputy secretary of CPC Guangdong Committee and secretary of CPC Guangzhou Committee, delivered a keynote speech at the “Invest in China: New Challenges and Great Opportunities” closed-door round table of China Development Forum in Beijing, and interacted with participating guests. As a national central city and provincial capital, Guangzhou has insisted on the keynote of seeking for progress based on stability, driven the Five-in-One overall layout in general and coordinately boosted the Four Comprehensiveness strategic layout, further improved the city’s attraction, creativity and competitiveness. Guangzhou aims to drive the opening-up at a higher level, actively boost the construction of strategic hubs for international shipping, aviation and sci-tech innovation, strengthen the city’s hub function and take part in global resource distribution. The city also focuses on deepening the structural reform in the supply side, rejuvenating the real economy, concentrating on sci-tech industrial innovation, energetically developing new-generation IT, artificial intelligence, bio-medicine and strategic emerging industry, and attracting talent, capital, technology and other high-end elements. A group of projects, such as the Foxconn 10.5G display, Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City, GE Bio-industrial Park, BeiGene and iFlytek, successively moved in. Guangzhou aims at building a good development environment. With the construction of Nansha Free Trade Zone into a high-level opening-up portal hub as a leading project, Guangzhou will deepen system innovation in the aspect of investment and trade facilitation, further construct a marketized, internationalized and law-based business environment, a clean, tidy, safe and orderly urban environment, and an honest, practical and pioneering political ecological environment, and further intensify Guangzhou’s advantages in market, cost, ecology and services.
The upcoming years will be the golden period, window period and opportunity period for Guangzhou’s development, said Ren Xuefeng. Guangzhou is preparing for 2017 Fortune Global Forum in full swing, sincerely inviting domestic and foreign guests to attend the forum, jointly grasp the new opportunities and share the new fruit of Guangzhou’s development.
