Boao Forum for Asia Opens Today

As one of the high-level dialogue platforms in Asia, the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2015 will be held from March 26 to 29 at Boao, Hainan. Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote speech.
 
Most of the attendees to the conference are elites from the political and business circles. “Then, there will be chairpersons, CEOs or people in charge of businesses in the Asia-Pacific region and China from about 200 Fortune 500 enterprises,” said Zhou Wenzhong, Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia, “and 16 state leaders and more than 80 minister-level officials from different countries will attend it.” Statistics of the Secretariat of Boao Forum for Asia indicates that, 1,772 formal representatives and 1,014 media staff from 49 countries and regions will attended the conference.
 
It was said that the annual conference will include 77 formal discussions about macro economy, regional cooperation, industrial transformation, technology innovation, political security and social people’s livelihood.
 
Zhou said, “There will be a sub-forum for the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the BRICS Development Bank as well as four activities themed on the ‘One Belt and One Road’ strategy. We hope that the Boao Forum for Asia will play an active role in the construction of the ‘One Belt and One Road’.”
