“Reconstruct” a Nansha in five years! On March 29, the 6^th Plenary Session of the 2^nd People’s Congress of Nansha District opened. Zeng Jinze, acting director of Nansha, made the report on the work of the district government. It sets forth that efforts will be made to double the regional GDP of that in 2015 by 2020, and aim at growing GDP to RMB300 billion, and ensure simultaneous growth of the incomes of the urban and rural residents and economic development.   

 

50 projects of Fortune 500 corporations settle in Nansha

 

The report points out that in 2015, Nansha has achieved the regional GDP of RMB113 .307 billion. The anticipated growth goal of the regional GDP is 13.5% this year. During the 12^th Five-Year Plan period, the abovementioned index grew by 18.3% annually on average, ranking the first in Guangzhou.

 

The data show that by 2015, Nansha saw settlement of 50 projects of Fortune 500 corporations, and more than 50 headquarters enterprises, 108 financial leasing enterprises, 654 financial and parallel institutions, 709 cross-border e-commerce companies and 1,200 shipping service enterprises.

 

Two statutory bodies to be established this year

 

With regard to the widely concerned statutory bodies, Zeng said this year Mingzhu Bay Area Development and Construction Administration and Industrial Park Development and Construction Administration will be established, together with the Administrative Approval Bureau, to accelerate the relatively concentrated administrative permission reform.

 

Moreover, the report has also defined the development tasks of the seven sections of China (Guangzhou) Pilot Free Trade Zone Nansha Area. Zeng said Jiaomenhe Urban Center would accelerate the construction of 56 key projects of the headquarters economy cluster to facilitate the formation of the “urban drawing room” and patterns. Mingzhu Bay Startup Area will give priority to the construction of the Sinochem Group Urban Complex, CCCC International Mingzhu and other important projects, launch the development and construction of the 300,000 square meters around the gymnasium, implement the demolition and land acquisition works of Hengli Island and start the infrastructure development and construction. Efforts will be made to accelerate the infrastructure construction and industrial introduction of Nansha Bay, promote the cruise home port complex construction, accelerate the application and approval of land and sea area of the seaport area, and enhance the construction of Nansha Port Area, the Free Trade Port Area, logistics park and water dredging and other infrastructure projects, and Wanqingsha Free Trade Port Processing and Manufacturing Section, Qingsheng hub area and Nansha hub area and implement the investment promotion activities at the same time.
