China Sees YoY GDP Growth of 7% in 1st Quarter

On April 15, the National Bureau of Statistics of the People’s Republic of China released the economic data in the first quarter of 2015. The GDP reached RMB 14.0667 trillion, with a year-on-year increase of 7.0%, indicating a steady economic growth at the beginning of this year.
 
The data show that the first quarter saw stable agricultural production, slight drop of industrial production growth, some slowdown of growth of investment in fixed assets as well as steady growth of market sales. From an overall perspective, the national economy in the first quarter of 2015 enjoyed a steady development. Despite the slowdown of economic growth, the employment, consumer price and market expectation remained stable. The added value of the primary industry was RMB777 billion, up 3.2% year-on-year; that of the secondary industry was RMB6.0292 trillion, up 6.4%; and that of the tertiary industry was RMB7.2605 trillion, up 7.9%. The GDP in the first quarter increased by 1.3% over the previous quarter.
