Canton Fair Launches Year-round Online Services

In face of challenges, Canton Fair has explored more opportunities by launching e-commerce services. It has received 200,000 purchasers and aired the opening ceremony on live online to realize trading operation 365 days a year. On April 23, a number of old and new customers and officials of Canton Fair have reviewed the development history and the current situation of the fair and examined the development direction for the future in the information era at the Canton Fair Forum held by the Information Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government and Guangzhou Library.
 
“We have been developing the e-commerce since 2011,” said Yin Shujuan, market director of Canton Fair E-commerce Co. Ltd. And the news conference of the opening ceremony was aired on line online across the globe, taking a leading role in the publicity and investment promotion of China’s exhibition industry. It is learned that since the official account of Canton Fair at Facebook was opened in September 2014, it has attracted more than 100,000 fans. This year French and Spanish versions were launched, increasing the service language to five, including the existing English, Simple Chinese and Traditional Chinese services, helping Canton Fair increase overseas influence.
 
At the Chinese and overseas expert on-site seminar, all participants reached consensus: the advent the e-commerce era has brought both new challenges and new opportunities. Yin explained that the e-commerce platform has gradually taken the role of online agent to realize trading operation 365 days a year. Relying on the accumulated advantages on high-quality purchasers and suppliers and the time-honored influence, Canton Fair enjoys a promising and profitable future.
