Guangzhou Ranks China’s First in Import and Export of the Cross-border E-Commerce in 1Q16

According to the Customs statistics, in 1Q16 the total import and export of the cross-border e-commerce in Guangzhou reached RMB2.67 billion, up 2.3 times year-on-year. The import reached RMB970 million, up 2.7 times and the export RMB1.71 billion, up 2.1 times. Guangzhou ranked the first in the import and export of cross-border e-commerce, and accounted for about 30% of the total of China.
 
In the first quarter, 28 cities in China implemented the import and export businesses of cross-border e-commerce, and eight cities saw more than RMB100 million of import and export. The total import and export of the cross-border e-commerce in China reached RMB8.85 billion, and that of Guangzhou ranked the first with RMB2.67 billion of import and export, accounting for 30.2% of China’s total. Guangzhou ranked the second in terms of the import size (RMB970 million), accounting for 21% of the total import of China, and ranked the first in terms of the export size (RMB1.71 billion), accounting for 40.4% of the total export of cross-border e-commerce of China.
