On June 23, Guangzhou held the roundtable on building an international shipping center. Ren Xuefeng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, and Chen Jianhua, mayor of Guangzhou, attended the roundtable and delivered a speech at the meeting.

 

Ren welcomed the enterprise representatives on behalf of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and Guangzhou municipal government. He said building the international shipping center and logistics center is the objective requirement for Guangzhou to transform the economic development model, promote the industrial transformation and upgrading and improve the comprehensive service functions of the city in the new normal. Guangzhou is equipped with a good foundation and conditions to realize the goal. Grasping the important opportunities of the construction of the “One Belt and One Road” and the pilot free trade zone, Guangzhou, centering on concentrating the shipping elements, improving the industrial chain and enhancing the comprehensive strength of shipping and under the orientation of the service enterprise demand, is further optimizing the collection and distribution system that matches the hub port, airport and railway capacity, improving port customs clearance, financial services and agency services and other shipping service systems, and the professional and international level of shipping services, building a law-based market-oriented international business environment, lowering the logistics costs, promoting establishment of the port city alliance, increasing international exchanges and regional cooperating, and accelerating construction of the international shipping center and logistics center. It is expected that the international shipping enterprises and international logistics enterprises to offer valuable suggestions, give full play to their advantages, and make good use of the advantages of Guangzhou to increase investment and expand businesses.
