The “Internet Plus” New Economic Mode to be Preliminarily Established in Early 2025

Beijing, July 4 (Xinhua News Agency)— Upon the approval of Premier Li Keqiang, the State Council recently issued the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the “Internet Plus” Action (hereinafter referred to as the Guiding Opinions). It is an important measure to promote the expansion of application of Internet from the field of consumption to the field of production, accelerate industrial development, enhance the innovation ability of different industries, and constitute new advantages and functions for economic and social development. 
 
The Guiding Opinions calls for sticking to the basic principles of “opening-up and sharing, integration and innovation, reform and transformation as well as security and good organization”, giving full play to the advantages of China’s Internet industry in scale and application, insisting on reform and renovation and orientation of market demands, and making great efforts to enable Internet to be deeply and widely integrated with various economic and social fields. It aims to achieve further integration of Internet into various economic and social fields by 2018, make the new business types based on Internet new driving force for economic growth, enhance the functions of Internet in supporting popular entrepreneurship and innovation, make Internet a major tool to provide public services, and basically set up the development pattern with cooperation and interaction between network economy and real economy.
 
The “Internet Plus” new economic mode is expected to take initial shape in 2025. It will become an important driving force for China’s innovative economic and social development.
 
The Guiding Opinions puts forward seven guarantee measures for the “Internet Plus” action, including: laying a solid foundation for further development; strengthening the driving ability of innovation; creating a free environment; expanding overseas cooperation; enhancing smart construction; providing better guidance; making good organization.
