Guangzhou Foreign Trade Achieves 8.8% Growth in 1H15

Recently the People’s Daily published the news of Guangzhou Foreign Trade Achieves 8.8% Growth in 1H15 on Page 2, highlighting the excellent achievement of the foreign trade of Guangzhou in the first half of 2015.
 
The data reflects that “Made-in-Guangzhou” and “Guangzhou Service” has been marching to the world stage centering on the “One Belt and One Road” strategy. In the first half of 2015, the top three export markets of Guangzhou are still Hong Kong, the US and EU with an increase of more than RMB1 billion of the export amount respectively. The trade with the countries along the Maritime Silk Road reached RMB88 billion, up more than 13%. The exports of tourism shopping towards ASEAN, Middle East and Africa etc. reached nearly RMB44.5 billion.
 
According to the blueprint of “Made-in-China 2025”, Guangzhou has taken active measures to push the high-end equipment, smart manufacturing, green manufacturing and service-oriented manufacturing to the emerging markets. The exports of maritime engineering equipment reached nearly RMB3.2 billion, an increase of 5.2 times; exports of entire vehicle reached more than RMB1.3 billion, up 61.3% and exports of high-tech ships RMB4.1 billion, up 22.6%.
 
In the first half this year, the cross-border E-commerce import and export reached RMB2.85 billion, exceeding the amount of the whole year of 2014. Although the volume is not high, it is the largest among the pilot cities of China.
 
In Nansha New District, the opening-up, reform and innovation efforts have been in full swing, offering the importers and exporters genuine policy and service “dividends”.
