2016 China (Guangzhou) International Cross-border E-commerce Industry Exhibition cum Summit Forum was opened at PWTC Expo on July 20. Cao Chaolin, vice mayor of Guangzhou, and Diao Ailin, deputy secretary-general of Guangzhou municipal government, attended the event and made an inspection tour in the exhibition booths such as Guangdong Guangxin Holdings Group, VIP.com, wbiao.com, and Huangpu District, and met with distinguished guests and enterprise representatives. Diao delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the forum. Yang Jianzheng, president of the E-commerce Development Research Institute of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Prof. Chen Haiquan, president of the Modern Logistics College of Jinan University, and representatives of the industrial associations, consulates, and leading cross-border e-commerce enterprises were invited to make keynote speeches at the forum.

 

The exhibition and forum was jointly sponsored by Guangzhou Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Association, Hong Kong Yuezhan Group, Guangzhou Daily and other units under the guidance of Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce. The theme of the exhibition is “Opening up the ‘New Blue Sea’ of Cross-border E-commerce and Leading the New Journey of the ‘Belt and Road’”. The exhibition area reaches 20,000 square meters. The event has attracted more than 300 famous brands such as VIP.com, Alibaba, Amazon, Guangxin Group, and eBay. During the event, a 1000-participant forum and seven sub-forums will be held for three consecutive days.

 

The forum will accelerate Guangzhou’s cross-border e-commerce innovation and development, and vigorously guide the traditional foreign trade enterprises to transform and upgrade by means of the cross-border e-commerce, speed up development of the national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive experiment zone to generate important driving effect and provide new growth poles and powerhouse for the construction of the international shipping hub, international aviation hub and international technological innovation hub.

 

Lin Guoqiang, vice director of Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce, attended the event and accompanied the leaders of Guangzhou in the inspection tour and the meetings with distinguished guests.
