The 2015 Conference on Urban Development and Planning, sponsored by Chinese Society for Urban Studies and Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, will be held in Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center between July 22 and 23. With the theme of “ecological wisdom, ‘one belt and one road’, green development,” the conference will have 24 academic seminars and various small-scale exhibitions. More than 1500 domestic and foreign scholars and experts will discuss the urban development and planning at the conference.

 

The conference will have three sub-forums for Guangzhou, namely, Guangzhou Development Pearl River Forum, Public Participation and Urban Development, Planning and Innovation Forum and Development Forum for Nansha New District and the Pilot Free Trade Zone, to discuss the city’s development paths toward the future.

 

The Conference on Urban Development and Planning is an important international convention initiated by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and jointly sponsored by Chinese Society for Urban Studies and relevant cities. The conference, first held in 2006, had been successfully held for nine sessions and become China’s most influential forum in urban planning field.
