Recently, Guangdong　Provincial　Enterprises　Confederation and Guangdong Association of Entrepreneurs released the lists of the Top 500 Enterprises of Guangdong, Top 100 Private Enterprises of Guangdong, Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises of Guangdong, Top 100 Service Enterprises of Guangdong and Top 100 Circulation Enterprises of Guangdong in 2016.

 

It was learnt that 156 enterprises in Guangzhou rank among the Top 500 Enterprises of Guangdong. Of Guangdong’s 16 enterprises in the “100 billion club”, five are based in Guangzhou; 50 of Guangzhou’s enterprises on the list of the Top 500 Enterprises of Guangdong are from the manufacturing industry, accounting for 32%; 92 from the service industry, accounting for about 59%; 13 from the circulation industry, accounting for about 8.3%; one engaged in comprehensive businesses, accounting for about 0.6%.

 

In terms of the lists by industry, 59 enterprises in Guangzhou rank among the Top 100 Service Enterprises of Guangdong, accounting for more than 50%. This enables Guangzhou to become the biggest winner of the list. The list of the Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises of Guangdong includes 30 enterprises in Guangzhou, indicating that the advanced manufacturing industry has begun to provide great support for building Guangzhou into “a city with strong manufacturing capacity”.

 

Relevant data show that, the manufacturing industry of Guangzhou has a relatively solid foundation so that it has shown great development potential under the New Normal conditions. On the other hand, the service industry of the “thousand-year city of business” again shows strong impetus for further development and is playing a more and more important role in economic growth. The formation of new engines for the transformation and development of Guangzhou is in stable progress.
