From August 4 to 5, the 9^th Plenary Session of the 10^th CPC Guangzhou Committee was held in Guangzhou to make study on and arrangement for urban planning, construction and management, listen to the keynote speech by Ren Xuefeng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Committee and secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Committee, and review and adopt the Opinions of the CPC Guangzhou Committee and the People’s Government of Guangzhou on Further Enhancing Urban Planning, Construction and Management and the Resolution on Holding the 11^th Guangzhou Congress of the CPC. At the plenary session, it was proposed to center on the positioning set under the overall urban planning of Guangzhou approved by the State Council to continuously deepen and improve the urban development strategy and build a hub-type network city. It is also proposed to improve the city quality to create a good environment for living and innovation and business launch so that the people will live a safer, more convenient, more comfortable and happier life.

 

Ren Xuefeng mentioned Nansha for 13 times during his speech on behalf of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangzhou Committee. He set new positioning for Nansha. He said that great efforts should be made to build Nansha New Area into a sub-center of Guangzhou and make it the future of Guangzhou’s development.
