Recently, State Administration for Industry and Commerce announced a new batch of Famous Trademarks of China. A total of 11 trademarks of Guangzhou including Qixing, Baiyun, JFC and Wetcode were granted the Famous Trademarks of China, increasing the city’s total to 123, up 9.8% comparing with that at the end of last year. Guangzhou’s Famous Trademarks of China are from more than 20 industries, such as garments, daily use chemicals, medicine, mechanical and electrical engineering and modern service etc. Private enterprises own 74 Famous Trademarks of China, or 60% of Guangzhou’s total, which is higher than those owned by state-owned enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises. Private enterprises have become the main force for nurturing self-owned brands of Guangzhou.
