Support American Enterprises to Establish Regional Headquarters in Guangdong

On September 13, in Guangzhou, Zhao Yufang, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, met with Bruce H. Andrews, Deputy Secretary of Commerce, and his fellows from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Zhao first showed welcome to Bruce H. Andrews and his fellows on behalf of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province. She said that, under the background of a good overall development of the Sino-U.S. relation, the communication between Guangdong and the United States has been increasingly enhanced, with a variety of remarkable achievements in the cooperation in business, science and technology development, tourism, culture and establishment of sister-city relationships. Last year, the imports and exports between Guangdong and the United States reached USD121.78 billion, accounting for 22% of the trading volume between China and the United States. This year, the trades between Guangdong and the United States have been maintaining a fast increase. From January to July, the imports and exports between the two sides reached USD70.5 billion, up 7.6% year-on-year, indicating a good foundation for the cooperation between both sides. Zhao said that Guangdong would like to seize the opportunities to enhance the cooperation for mutual benefits, especially to take the chance of the construction of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone to promote business and trade cooperation and support the U.S. enterprises engaged in business and trade, shipping and logistics to establish regional headquarters in Guangdong. She also said that Guangdong would like to expand the business and trade cooperation between both sides and enhance the cooperation in e-business, logistics, medical technology and services for the aged to propel the cooperation between both sides to enter a new stage.
