Recently, the Collaborative Innovation Alliance of Big Data Industry initiated by the government of Guangzhou and the Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Commission was formally established. It is going to base on data to provide services for the upgrading and transformation of the traditional industries of Guangzhou. It was learnt that, the alliance consists of a number of top-class Chinese big data companies, including Inspur, Beiming Software and AsiaInfo.

 

Person in charge of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Commission said that, in 2013, the Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Alliance of Guangzhou was established under the initiation of the government of Guangzhou. So far, a total of 84 industry-university-research technology innovation alliances have been established in the fields of health and medical services, 3D printing, industrial robots and smart Internet of Things. In June 2016, the base of the Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Alliance at Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center opened to provide free sites and comprehensive innovative services for matching scientific and technological achievements with related demands and carrying out entrepreneurship education.

 

Currently, for the collaborative innovation among the industrial, academic and research sectors of Guangzhou, a “platform plus” mode supported by science and technology policies, sci-tech finance, intermediary service system and innovation and business launch system has been formed up. For the next step, Guangzhou will continue to establish connections between economy and science and technology through all-around cooperation among the industrial, academic and research sectors and the cooperation among governments, financial institutions and intermediaries to create an innovation chain centering on the industrial chain, improve the capital chain centering on the innovation chain and improve the quality of scientific and technological achievements and concentrate capitals, technologies, talents, markets and other innovation factors through the collaborative innovation.

 

The establishment of the Collaborative Innovation Alliance of Big Data Industry will be helpful for the establishment of a management mechanism featuring data-based demonstration, decision making, management and innovation. Also, it will be helpful for improving the government’s ability for social governance and promoting the optimization of economic structure and industrial upgrading of Guangzhou.

 

It was learnt that, after the establishment of the alliance, a big data exchange evaluation system will be built up, and great efforts will be made to promote the establishment of a number of major projects, application technology innovation projects and public service platforms in Guangzhou.
