The regulatory plan for the West Zone of Pazhou, which aims to set up an E-business cluster with total operating income of RMB100 billion and is deemed as a zone representing the future of Guangzhou, will be modified. Recently, the consulting results for the regulatory plan for the West Zone of Pazhou (north of Xingang Road) were released, proposing to position the zone as the “new compact CBD of Guangzhou” and reduce the block scale, enhance the density of the subway and tramcar systems, build new ring roads for tramcars and reduce the development of underground space to maximum.

 

In accordance with the new plan, the zone will be positioned to be a new compact CBD of Guangzhou featuring intensive and economical land use and a headquarters economy zone with cultural deposits, Lingnan characteristics and opening-up charm. On the premise of guaranteeing the quota for green space, investment in public facilities should be increased; supporting public construction and services should be enhanced; protection and utilization of water system landscapes and industrial heritage resources should be intensified; land should be developed in an intensive way to improve the efficiency of land use.
