Moreover, Guangzhou has accelerated the development of a number of industries and projects that will rank top and enjoy a good reputation nationwide and even worldwide.
Reports on the congresses of the CPC of different districts showed that, a network consisting of several industrial clusters each with output value of RMB100 billion will be established centering on advanced manufacturing covering new energy vehicles, bio-medicine, health and medical services and big data as well as modern services covering high-end airport-based services and Internet finance. These clusters will become key engines for an economic take-off of Guangzhou.
The auto manufacturing industry is one of the three major traditional pillar industries of Guangzhou. Panyu, Conghua, Huadu and Zengcheng have respectively made plans for the construction of a number of strategic industrial parks, including the new energy vehicle cluster, auto research center and auto city, aiming to join the efforts to form up a “steel legion” of the auto manufacturing industry of Guangzhou.
Take Zengcheng for example. In the future, led by two major finished auto projects of Guangzhou Honda and BAIC, great efforts will be made to develop enterprises engaged in research, development and manufacturing of autos and new energy vehicles as well as core parts for finished autos, with emphasis laid on promoting the construction of a number of projects, including the South China Headquarters Base of China Automotive Technology & Research Center, aiming to develop the auto industry into the first pillar industry with output value of RMB100 billion. In Huadu, where the output value of auto industry has exceeded RMB100 billion, plans for new energy vehicle and smart equipment industrial parks are being made, including improving independent innovation capability, extending the industrial chain and introducing auto finance, inspection and testing, Internet of Vehicles and other auto services by providing support for Dongfeng Nissan.
On the other hand, Cisco (USA) will build a world leading smart city in Panyu. It will be China’s first smart city centering on smart manufacturing and Cloud technology, with output value of more than RMB100 billion. The report on the congress of the CPC of Panyu District said that, in the coming five years, the district will rely on the National Supercomputer Center in Guangzhou to introduce a number of strategic emerging industries, such as big data, Internet of Things, Cloud computing, health and medical services, energy saving and environmental protection, new materials and new energy.
In recent years, a number of well-developed and reputable partners have launched cooperation in Haizhu District. For example, Alibaba, Tencent and Fosun, which are giant enterprises in Internet and finance, have launched cooperation in the construction of a cluster of Internet and innovative industries with output value of RMB100 billion in Pazhou. At the congress of the CPC of Haizhu District, it was clearly specified that Haizhu will make great efforts to develop a number of new-generation IT industries, such as mobile Internet, Cloud computing and big data, and effectively guide Internet enterprises to seek for a cluster-based development to seize the chance from the accelerated integration of IT and traditional industries due to the implementation of the “Internet plus” strategy and participate in the industrial transformation and upgrading at the Pearl River Delta.
Relying on the strategy to develop international air transport hub, Baiyun District and Huadu District have also got huge opportunities to develop high-end airport-based economy. For example, in the future, Baiyun District will enhance the development of a number of aviation services, such as air logistics and cross-border e-business, and promote concentration of high-end service industries, such as aircraft leasing and related marketing, training, legal, consulting, financial and insurance services. In addition, it will make great efforts to attract headquarters of aviation enterprises, civil aviation organizations, industrial associations, research centers and other similar organizations to form up an industrial system for the development of high-end airport-based economy.
The characteristic financial service industry also has a good development in many districts of Guangzhou. On the one hand, with continuously enhanced advantages for the development of headquarters economy, Tianhe District and Yuexiu District have attracted a number of financial service providers that are famous home and abroad. On the other hand, the Internet Finance project of Haizhu District, Green Finance project of Huadu District and Fund Town project of Panyu District have been launched, accelerating the improvement of the modern financial service system of Guangzhou.
