On the afternoon of September 28, Ren Xuefeng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Committee and secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Committee, met with Marc N. Casper, president and CEO of Thermo Fisher Scientific (China) Co., Ltd., and his fellows. Pan Jianguo, secretary general of the People’s Government of Guangzhou, and Cai Zhaolin, vice mayor of Guangzhou, attended the meeting.

 

Ren Xuefeng expressed welcome to Marc N. Casper and his fellows. He said that Guangzhou is centering on the task to build an important international resource allocation center to continuously optimize the urban environment and business environment and make innovations of the ecological system, and has attracted a number of leading multinationals and high-tech companies. The bio-medicine industry is a strategic emerging industry under the priority development of Guangzhou. Ren hopes that Thermo Fisher Scientific will seize the opportunity to develop bio-medicine, precision medicine, inspection and quarantine and other innovative businesses in Guangzhou and deepen the cooperation with local enterprises and scientific research institutes to realize mutual benefits and win-win cooperation.

 

Marc N. Casper said that Guangzhou has a good foundation, a market with great potential and high influence for the development of bio-medicine. Thermo Fisher Scientific attaches great importance to  the strategic position of Guangzhou and will take the chance of signing the strategic cooperation agreement to expand the investment and cooperation in life science, medical and health services, environmental protection as well as inspection and quarantine to seek for a greater development.
