Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Forum Held in Guangzhou

Yesterday afternoon, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Forum sponsored by the Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation was held in Guangzhou. He Zhongyou, vice governor of Guangdong province, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet Ngor, Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong SAR Government, and Dai Jianye, director of the DSE of Macao SAR Government, attended the forum and delivered speeches. In addition, more than 350 people, including Tang Hao, vice chairmen of the CPPCC Guangdong Committee, the officials in charge of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR and related departments of Guangdong province as well as professionals engaged in finance, accounting and IT in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao attended the forum and had discussions about how to promote a linked development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao driven by innovation of specialized services under the cooperation.
He Zhongyou said, to accelerate the linked development driven by innovation of specialized services, emphasis will be laid on four aspects in the future. The first is to deeply promote the service trade liberalization of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. The second is to accelerate the construction of key cooperation platforms in China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone. The third is to enhance the cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in innovation and business launch. The fourth is to join the hands to participate in “the Belt and Road” initiative.
The forum is themed on “specialized services, innovation–driven and linked development”. Experts and scholars from the National Development and Reform Commission, Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Sun Yat-Sen University, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Ji'nan University delivered keynote speeches and exchanged opinions centering on related topics.
