Over 2000 Taiwan-funded Projects Increased in the Mainland in the First Three Quarters

According the latest statistics of the Department of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese mainland approved 2,081 Taiwan-funded projects from January to September, up 21.3% on a year-on-year basis. The actually used Taiwan investment reached US$1.21 billion, down 27.8%on a year-on-year basis.
 
By the end of September this year, the Chinese mainland totally approved 94,417 Taiwan-funded projects, with actually used Taiwan investment of US$62.36 billion. If calculating at the actually used foreign investment, Taiwan investment accounted for 3.9% of the accumulated paid-in overseas investment of the Chinese mainland.
 
From January to September, the Chinese mainland and Taiwan completed trade of US$137.71 billion, down 5.5% on a year-on-year basis, accounting for 4.7% of the total foreign trade of the mainland. Of that, exports of the mainland to Taiwan reached US$33.55 billion, down 2.8% on a year-on-year basis, and imports from Taiwan reached US$104.16 billion, down 6.3%on a year-on-year basis. Taiwan is the mainland’s seventh largest trading partner and the sixth largest import source.
