Focus on Development of Six Mayor Strategic Emerging Industries

The Executive Meeting of the People’s Government of Guangzhou held on the afternoon of October 31 adopted The 13th Five-Year Plan of Guangzhou for Development of Strategic Emerging Industries, which proposes to, by 2020, realize added value of strategic emerging industries of RMB400 billion, accounting for more than 15% of GDP, and form up five industrial clusters with output value of more than RMB200 billion.
 
In accordance with the Plan, emphasis will be laid on the development of six major strategic emerging industries, including new-generation IT, biology and health. The development of five leading industries, such as precision medicine and high-end intelligent robots, will be accelerated. Further efforts will be made to develop and expand 37 industrial bases, such as Tianhe Science Park. Great efforts will be made to improve the efficiency of 57 national and provincial innovation platforms, such as the National Engineering Laboratory for Plastic Modification and Processing, and promote the construction of a number of major projects, including the China-Israel Bio-industry Incubation Base.
 
Moreover, the Catalogue of Key Products and Services of Strategic Emerging Industries of Guangzhou (2016 Version) was released, covering new targets of seven industries toward 40 directions to guide more social capitals to these fields.
