To Forge 100 Benchmark Innovation Enterprises Each Year

On November 1, the Launching Ceremony for the 1st National Contest of Smart Manufacturing Innovation (Made in China 2015) in South China was held in Guangzhou. The contest is jointly sponsored by the Center of Software and IC Promotion (CSIP) of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Internet + Development Association of China (IDAC).
At the ceremony, Du Jiao, chief of the Division of Science and Technology Development of the CSIP, said that Tianhe District of Guangzhou was chosen to hold the contest because it is the most active district in the aspects of innovation and business launch in Guangdong and even in the whole South China. They assigned the themes of the contest based on the 10 targets to be supported under the Made in China 2015 guidelines issued by the State Council, covering seven fields with the quite active innovation. Du said that the nominated projects, review teams and coaching for contest will show enhanced professionalization.
It was learnt that the contest in South China will be jointly organized by Guangdong Association for Cooperation and Exchanges of Private Enterprises, Gizwits IoT Technology Co., Ltd., THero and China Electronics Industry Science and Technology Exchange Center (CESTEC). It will mainly recruit projects from Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Hong Kong and Macao.
Huang Zhuo, CEO of Gizwits IoT Technology Co., Ltd., was excited about the contest to be held where his company is based in. He said that many large manufacturing enterprises encountered difficulties in transformation and flexible small teams with good innovation ability are ideal partners of these enterprises. Compared with technology innovation projects, he expected to see more mode innovation projects at the contest in South China. “Like what DiDi has done, a leap-forward breakthrough can be realized by linking the upstream and downstream industries of the traditional manufacturing industry through a brand-new mode,” he said.
Wu Yadong, deputy general manager of the CESTEC, believed that the innovation in the future should go beyond the laboratories to the markets and enterprises, while Guangdong has been good at accurate exploration of market demands.
Zhong Bin, chief of the Division of Talents of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Commission, attended the ceremony and said that Guangzhou strives to create the best growth and development environment of China and, for the purposes of technology innovation, mode innovation, platform innovation and high growth, it will develop 100 benchmark innovation enterprises each year and assign leading officials at the offices of the CPC Committees at municipal, district and committee levels to provide one-to-one support for these enterprises to seek for a growth. Relevant policies will be revealed at the end of November.
