On the afternoon of November 9, 2015, the governments of Guangzhou and Shaoguan signed the framework agreement for strategic cooperation in Guangzhou. Ren Xuefeng, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Guangdong Committee and secretary of CPC Guangzhou Committee, Chen Jianhua, mayor of Guangzhou, Lan Foan, secretary of CPC Shaoguan Committee, and Luo Weifeng, acting major of Shaoguan, attended the signing ceremony.

 

It was learnt that, it is one of the specific measures for the implementation of the guiding principles adopted at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18^th Central Committee of the CPC and the instructions of the CPC Guangdong Committee on integrating Shaoguan into the Pearl River Delta development and cooperation between Guangzhou and Shaoguan in further development.

 

The Framework Agreement for Strategic Cooperation between the People’s Governments of Guangzhou and Shaoguan indicates that, both sides will promote the integration of Shaoguan into the “3+3” Economic Circle of Guangzhou, Foshan and Zhaoqing as well as Qingyuan, Yunfu and Shaoguan and make the cooperation between Guangzhou and Shaoguan part of the cooperation mechanism for the “3+3” Economic Circle. This will further drive coordinated regional development of Guangdong province.
