Release time:2017-11-24
On November 22, the U.S.-China Business Roundtable, inter-provincial and inter-city economic and trade cooperation meeting, healthcare cooperation seminar, agriculture and food cooperation seminar and other programs were held in Guangzhou. Wang Yang, Vice Premier of the State Council of China and Penny Pritzker, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Michael B. Froman, Trade Representative and Tom Vilsack, Secretary of U.S. Department Agriculture attended the programs.
Holding a series of cooperative activities under the China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT) framework is a major innovation in recent years taken by the two sides. The political and business circles of the two countries praised highly of the reform and believed the JCCT after restructuring not only plays a role of “fire extinguisher”in solving the economic and trade differences, but also acts as an “impeller” of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Wang Yang said China had made a solid step forward towards the modern enterprise system construction and will further promote the benign interaction between enterprises and governments, and develop a law-based internationalized business environment. The local cooperation is the cornerstone of China-US economic and trade cooperation. It is expected the two sides to fully tap the huge potential in the inter-provincial and inter-city economic and trade cooperation. The 5th plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee set forth the new concept of sharing development and the new goal of building healthy China, which will vigorously promote China’s healthcare industry to develop rapidly. We welcome enterprises from the U.S and other countries to seize this business opportunity to realize the win-win results. Agriculture is a steady cooperation field between China and the U.S. and both parties should give play to their respective advantages and care about each other so as to expand the agricultural cooperation. China is willing to make joint efforts with the US side to carry out the outcomes of President Xi Jinping’s visit to the US in September this year.
