It was learnt that, through the joint efforts by the Guangdong side and the Hong Kong side, the Hong Kong-funded enterprises in Guangdong have owned 455 provincial famous trademarks of Guangdong, accounting for 14.56% of the total of province.

 

In recent years, both sides have been highly motivated to put the outlines of the planning for the Pearl River Delta area into practice. Under such a circumstance, the Framework Agreement on Hong Kong/Guangdong Cooperation was put into implementation. The cooperation in trademark registration, protection, management and application has been increasingly enhanced. Thanks to the joint efforts by both sides in the past 13 years, the cooperation between both sides in trademarks has been upgraded from a spontaneous and scattered mode to an institutional and overall-perspective-based one. A total of ten cooperation projects have been launched, greatly promoting the development of the intellectual property programs in both Guangdong and Hong Kong, laying a solid foundation for Guangdong to take a lead to basically liberalize trade in services and making great contributions to a win-win economic development of Guangdong and Hong Kong.
