On December 1, the State-Level Incubators Innovation and Startup Service Alliance (the Alliance for short) was officially set up. It is the first regional state-level incubator service alliance of China. The Alliance consists of more than 10 state-level incubators, including Guangzhou High-tech Startup Service Center.

 

The Alliance has integrated the high quality innovation and startup resources of various state-level incubators, structured a resource and information sharing platform which is opened to the members of the alliance, and more than 100 incubators and about 10,000 scientific and technological small and medium-sized enterprises of Guangzhou to improve the efficiency of resource allocation of incubators. It provides services such as strategy planning, planning and organizing exchanges, training programs, innovation resource matching and various technological project consulting services.

 

Meanwhile, the Alliance will cooperate with Guangzhou Scientific and Technological Incubators Association to collect and sort out data and cases of the industry, help compile the annual development report of the scientific and technological incubator industry of Guangzhou and assist to regulate the industrial project application etc.

 

Jin Boyang, director of Haizhu High-tech Startup Service Center, was elected president of the Alliance. The secretariat is established in the South China Advanced Materials Innovation Park. Jin said, “The incubators in Guangzhou have many idle high quality resources. The Alliance will act as a bridge to integrate the resources to reduce costs of entrepreneurs and improve their success rate.”

 

In recent years, Guangzhou has witnessed great development of incubators. As of 2014, Guangzhou has 85 incubators, including 16 state-level incubators, which incubate 5,344 enterprises. According to the assessment results of 2014 national scientific and technological enterprise incubators released by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, seven of the 16 state-level incubators of Guangzhou were rated Grade A. Guangzhou ranks the first in terms of the number of outstanding incubators of the prefecture level and above. What’s more, the city also ranks the first in Guangdong Province with an excellence rate as high as 43.75%.
