Guangzhou Strives to Increase Number of High-Tech Enterprises by 900 within Three Years

Relevant statistics indicate that Guangzhou now has 50 various GISs, including 14 under the National Sci-Tech Business Incubator Management System and 30 as pilot units of Guangdong province for development of GISs.
 
It was said that Guangzhou has carried out the action plan for developing “Little Giant” enterprises in scientific and technological innovation and incubating high-tech enterprises, which includes a series of measures to support the development of Sci-tech enterprises in the initial, growth and development stages. It aims to, within three years, increase the number of high-tech enterprises by 900 (this year saw an increase of more than 200) to total the number to 2,500 by 2017, and incubate 4,500 “Little Giant” enterprises in scientific and technological innovation (this year saw an increase of 1,500). Emphasis will be laid on putting the policies on subsidies for enterprises’ investment in research and development and the policies on construction of research and development institutions of enterprises into substantial practice to provide support for related enterprises and strive to increase the proportion of research and development institutions of enterprises to more than 40% by 2017.
