China urged Sweden to correct its "wrong practices" of excluding Chinese enterprises from Sweden's 5G network construction, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

"We noted the Swedish move to exclude enterprises from specific countries in its complete 5G spectrum auction", a spokesman for the ministry said. "In the absence of evidence, Sweden excluded Chinese enterprises from Sweden's 5G network construction on the grounds of the so-called national security, which violated the basic principles of the World Trade Organization and international rules, and damaged the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises."

China firmly opposes this and will take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, the spokesman said.
