The Chinese tech company Oppo unveiled its latest flagship smartphone Find X3 series on Thursday night, marking its biggest push to expand its presence in the high-end phone segment.

The Find X3 Pro is powered by the US chip giant Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chipset, and feature an impressive set of quad cameras on the back, including a 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor, an ultrawide 50-megapixel sensor, a 13-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 3-megapixel micro lens that will support up to 60 times magnification.

Liu Bo, president of Oppo China, said the company plans to be one of the three major players that dominate the above-$600 smartphone segment. The other two players are Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.

Oppo has risen through the ranks to become the top smartphone brand in China for the first time in January with a market share of 21 percent, according to a report from market research company Counterpoint Research.

Oppo was followed by Vivo, Huawei, Apple and Xiaomi, with its sales growing 33 percent on a monthly basis and 26 percent on a yearly basis in January, Counterpoint Research added.
