Vivo unveils new phones to attract lovers of photography

Chinese smartphone vendor Vivo unveiled its latest handset S15 series, as the company steps up push to attract consumers with quality mobile photography.

The move comes after the total users of Vivo's S series smartphones came to nearly 30 million over the past four years.

Priced from 2,699 yuan ($404) in China, Vivo S15 series come with high-quality display, the latest version of the Android operating system and equipped with a triple rear camera setup.

In the first quarter of 2022, China's smartphone market declined by 14 percent year-on-year in terms of shipments, data from the market research company International Data Corp show. Vivo ranked third.

In March alone, smartphone shipments in China fell 40.5 percent year-on-year to 21.5 million units, said the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, a Beijing-based government think tank.
