The 2024 Global Key and Core Technology Conference & The China Robotics Competition concluded in Xi'an on Nov 3, showcasing the city's pivotal role in converging innovative resources, driving technological advancements, and fostering industrial cooperation.

The three-day conference, themed "Key & Core Technology - New Productivity Boosters", featured six major zones displaying high-tech achievements, dual-center advancements and key and core technological industries. Government delegations from Guangdong, Wuhan and Baoding joined forces with core technology enterprises to exhibit cutting-edge technological breakthroughs, emphasizing collaboration and innovation. Notable displays included breakthroughs in renewable resources, new materials, high-end equipment and electronic products.

A focal point was the China Robotics Competition, hosted by the Chinese Association of Automation. It included 21 diverse events, such as automated sorting robots and the newly added aerospace robotics. As one of the country's most prestigious tech contests, it brought together top innovators to address future industrial needs, underscoring China's vital position in robotics technology.

In addition to the main conference and the competition, related events such as parallel meetings and academic forums provided platforms for discussing artificial intelligence, digital energy innovation and future industries.

Liu Hua, director of the World Intellectual Property Organization's China office, mentioned in her congratulatory message that China stands as a global model for innovation and development.

Xi'an, the crux of the Belt and Road Initiative, has become a leader in technological innovation with its continued focus on fostering talent and supporting high-tech research. The event reinforced the city's status as a central hub for key and core technology within China and abroad.
